The 'Juxtaposition' Series

These works are made by combining recycled contaminated waste CRT glass with a layer of conventional clear studio casting glass in an innovative kiln casting process within a single kiln firing cycle.

The juxtaposition of the CRT glass and the transparent glass create a highly visible boundary that references boundaries in weather formations and the wider landscape. Creating this boundary line in the objects is uneasy equilibrium based on a delicately balanced experimental process, which pushes the interconnectedness and interplay between contrasting colours and textures of the different types of glass. The resulting objects are part artistry and part material science.
